Our day today...

Today in the morning we got to change our seat and talked about our project. Today in art we had to cut out 2 circles each. In math we did unit prices it was fun. Also in reading we worked on reflections and after we read.

OUR DAY TODAY

in writing the girls continued to research and did their reflection on the blog while the boys left tracks on a book bin book.in math we took a secure math test.in reading we continued to research and girls read book bin books.

Our reading block!

The girls went first on the computers for researching on their project.Then the boys got on and researched for their project .We all had the choice of researching men , women , civilians , soldiers , African Americans , or minorities.nobody is doing soldiers because it is too too complicated.

The adventures of fourth grade

Today in Writing the girls researched on the computer while boys read books. Then in specials we used recorders. In math we used rate charts. In Reading we did the opposite of writing.

Writing: today for writing we read in our journals and left down tracks

Art:today for art we finished our art show drawings and had a balloon break.

Math: today for math we did are unit 11 tests

Reading: Today in reading we did some stuff in our project and we read from our 20th century books and left notes.

Our day today...

Today in writing we wrote a narrative story test. In PE we bowled and learned how to keep score. Today in math we worked with capacity and weight. We were using sugar. Also in reading were on the computer. We are also starting our project called conflict and change. That was our day today it was so fun.

Today

In writing today we worked on finishing our digital anthologies. Most people were done or almost finished (recording the last few poems). That was extremely fun.
Next, we had P.E. In P.E., we learned a little bit about the history of bowling. We also had a quiz on what we had learned. Then we practiced bowling which was very fun!
We had a short, easy test in math. The test was on rotations, translations, reflections, and adding positive and negative integers.
After lunch, The girls had their turn on the computer and the boys read 20th century related books.

READALOT

TODAY in reading we talked about our F.Q.R chart. And we also watched some videos. Then we played a game in word work called QUIZ QUIZ trade.ISN'T THAT AN AWESOME READING!

Today in writing we searched for pictures for our digital anthology while the girls helped and read their books. Today for specials we had music and we learned how to play 3 notes on the recorder. Today in math we did a math review of the first 9 weeks. And last but not least reading. Today in reading the boys read from their book bin books while the girls did the digital reading journal.

Today we had bean burritos. APRIL FOOLS!!! Really in writing we worked on poetry anthology. In specials we made pictures of bones w/ charcoal penciels.

Today in math we did a review for are test coming up on friday then we before we did that review we completed any unfinished math boxes in the 9. section.

Reading:

Today in reading we learned more about the great depression and read a new section in are articles called The New Deal. Then we went to share and did our reflections.

Today in writing we got to write free verse poetry about dreams.In art today we watched a Georgia Okeefe.Today we had to read in article called World war1.

What we did today.

In writing we wrote poems about what bugs us. for specials we had music. we learned a new song on the xylophone. in math we played fraction consentration. we didn't have enough time to learn more about math. in reading we started learning about world war 1.

Today...

In writing we went to the creek and wrote haiku.In art we went to the creek and drew pictures. In math we used our calculators to find equivalent decimals of fractions. In reading we started a new unit in the 20th century.

In writing we did a type 1 writing on why poetry is good.then we had a mix pare share and shared one of our thoughts.after that we talked about limericks and wrote our own limericks.
In math we found percents in books.
In recess today we finished "Bolt" the movie and other people played games.
In reading we rehearsed for our project and presented them.

A good day at school

today in specials we did a free draw and it was going to be for a grade i did a bunny. Today in math we practised for the fcat. Then how to bubble in our answers. In reading we wrote our esays and typed them because they were do today.

We learned and did a lot today. In writing we wrote rhyming poetry using matching letters to mark rhyming lines such as AABB, ABAB, and even ABAC. That was really exciting because we have never done something like that before.
Music was what we had for specials. First, we did a dance. Then we watched a video on ragtime, jazz, and marches. On the video there was a song called "The Maple Leaf Rag" by Scott Joplin. The video also taught us about common melodies.
During math we learned about rotations, reflections, translations(slides), and congruent shapes. We also did a FCAT practice. We didn't have math games today.
Reading was really fun!!!! We are almost finished with our Civil War projects. Most of us are on our essays and some are done!!

A Fantastic Monday

Today in writing we read a poem by Emily Dickinson. In art we finished our contour line drawings and some people started free painting. In math we reviewed how to find the area of triangles, parallelograms, rectangles and squares. Finally, in reading some people started their planning sheet and one person started writing their essay.

In social studies we are doing a project on civil war.I am doing johnny Shiloh.

Today in math we review how to find the area of rectangle and parllorgram.We also learned a new game.In reading we reasearch more about our Civil War projects. There were papers all over the place.Lots of computer out and on the internet looking for more reaserch.

In writing we worked on poetry .We wrote examples of personification.We also did a mixed pair share to share some of our examples with other students.At p.e. we did team and individual jump rope.In math we measured the height and base of our shapes.We also drew our own shapes but we had to make the measurements equal the numbers given.In social studies we are doing are civil war projects, I am doing sojourner truth.we have lots of helpful resources.We had an awesome day.

A Fourth Grader's Day

Today in P.E. miss Zazo taught us why it's not good to smoke and what it could do to our hearts and lungs. The we listened to some of Shel Silver Stein's poems because we moved into a new unit,poetry. After that we learned about area in math Finally we learned how to research our topics for our Civil War project.
